    Experimental study of fragmentation products in the reactions 112Sn + 112Sn and 124Sn + 124Sn at 1 AGeV

    Production cross-sections and longitudinal velocity distributions of the projectile-like residues produced in the reactions 112Sn + 112Sn and 124Sn + 124Sn both at an incident beam energy of 1 AGeV were measured with the high-resolution magnetic spectrometer, the Fragment Separator (FRS) of GSI. For both reactions the characteristics of the velocity distributions and nuclide production cross sections were determined for residues with atomic number Z 10. A comparison of the results of the two reactions is presented.

    Charged particle directed flow in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN} = 2.76 TeV measured with ALICE at the LHC

    Charged particle directed flow at midrapidity, |eta|<0.8, and forward rapidity, 1.7 < |eta|<5.1, is measured in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN} = 2.76 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. Directed flow is reported as a function of collision centrality, charged particle transverse momentum, and pseudo-rapidity. Results are compared to measurements at RHIC and recent model calculations for LHC energies.

    Deciphering nonfemtoscopic two-pion correlations in collisions with simple analytical models

    A simple model of nonfemtoscopic particle correlations in proton-proton collisions is proposed. The model takes into account correlations induced by the conservation laws as well as correlations induced by minijets. It reproduces well the two-pion nonfemtoscopic correlations of like-sign and unlike-sign pions in proton-proton collision events at GeV analyzed by the ALICE Collaboration. We also argue that similar nonfemtoscopic correlations can appear in the hydrodynamic picture with event-by-event fluctuating nonsymmetric initial conditions that are typically associated with nonzero higher-order flow harmonics.

    Study of the neutron skin thickness of Pb in mean field models

    We study whether the neutron skin thickness of Pb originates from the bulk or from the surface of the neutron and proton density distributions in mean field models. We find that the size of the bulk contribution to of Pb strongly depends on the slope of the nuclear symmetry energy, while the surface contribution does not. We note that most mean field models predict a neutron density for Pb between the halo and skin type limits. We investigate the dependence of parity- violating electron scattering at the kinematics of the PREX experiment on the shape of the nucleon densities predicted by the mean field models for Pb. We find an approximate formula for the parity-violating asymmetry in terms of the central radius and the surface diffuseness of the nucleon densities of Pb in these models.

    Asymptotic behavior of pion form factors

    We consider the electromagnetic and transition pion form factors. Using dispersion relations we simultaneously describe both the hadronic, time-like region and the asymptotic region of large energy-momentum transfer. For the latter we propose a novel mechanism of Regge fermion exchange.

    Predicted charged charmonium-like structures in the hidden-charm dipion decay of higher charmonia

    In this work, we predict two charged charmonium-like structures close to the and thresholds, where the Initial Single Pion Emission mechanism is introduced in the hidden-charm dipion decays of higher charmonia , , and charmonium-like state Y(4260). We suggest BESIII to search for these structures in the , and invariant mass spectra of the decays into , and . In addition, the experimental search for these structures in the , and invariant mass spectra of the hidden-charm dipion decays will be accessible at Belle and BaBar.
