PaperPanorama

Frequently asked questions

What is PaperPanorama?

A catalog for the scholarly literature on arXiv. Browse each announcement day as a typeset digest, search the full corpus, filter by year, date range, or journal, sort by citations, and survey the field through authors, institutions, and trends. This is a hobby project by a nuclear physicist.

What papers does it cover?

Currenltly, every paper with primary or secondary category of Nuclear Theory (nucl-th). This comprises more than 60,000 new submissions and cross-listings alike since the beginning in 1992. Exact day-by-day digests reach back to December 2014, reconstructed from the arXiv mailings themselves, while for older papers the announcement date is estimated from the submission time and marked with an asterisk. Titles, abstracts, and author lists come from arXiv, enriched with publication, affiliation, and citation data from INSPIRE-HEP.

Will other categories be added?

Likely yes. The architecture is multi-category from the start. hep-ph and hep-lat are natural next candidates, but there is no timeline yet.

I see a mistake?

PaperPanorama mirrors its sources (arXiv and INSPIRE-HEP). If you see a mistake, please check the source first. If something looks wrong here but right at the source, feel free to report it to me.

Is this project open-source?

Not yet, but I plan to make it open-source in the future.
