PaperPanorama has no accounts and collects nothing personal. This page lists everything the site stores in your browser and every request it makes on your behalf.
Preferences
Display choices are kept in small first-party cookies whose names start with pp_: the
"Include cross-lists" scope, the author-count and self-citation toggles, the Metrics
switch, page sizes, the Browse map engine and the Insights chips. They exist so that pages
open the way you left them and carry no identifier. The light or dark theme is kept in
your browser's local storage. Clearing the site's data in your browser resets all of it.
Analytics
Page views are counted by a Swetrix instance that I host myself. It is cookieless, uses no personal identifiers and does no cross-site tracking. It records the page, the referrer, the browser family and the country, in aggregate. That is the only telemetry.
Requests to other sites
- When you open the citation-history chart or the BibTeX dialog on a paper page, your browser fetches that data from inspirehep.net directly, under INSPIRE's own terms.
- The chart loads two of its libraries from public CDNs, jsDelivr (chart.xkcd) and cdnjs (Font Awesome), which see the request as any web server would.
- Everything else, including fonts, map tiles and scripts, is served from paperpanorama.com.
