3N potentials in the Faddeev coordinate space approach to Nd scattering

In the last decade, for studying 3 $N$ bound states and $N d$ scattering the Tucson-Melbourne (TM) and Urbana 3 $N$ force derived from the chiral EFT have been applied. We plan to use the TM 3 $N$ force for studying the $N d$ scattering on the basis of the Faddeev equations in configuration space. In the given paper, we present our final formulas for components of the TM 3 $N$ potential obtained in the coordinate space.

The compressibility of quark matter under strong magnetic field in the NJL model

The compressibility of magnetized quark matter is investigated in the SU(2) NJL model. The increases of the chemical potential and the temperature can reduce the compressibility, and lead to the much stiffer equation of state. The variation of the compressibility with the magnetic field will depend on the phase region. Due to the anisotropic structure, the compressibility is different in the directions parallel and perpendicular to the field. The discontinuity of longitudinal compressibility with the chemical potential and the temperature captures the signature of a first-order chiral phase transition and the crossover at high temperature. Moreover, the magnetic-field-and-temperature running coupling would have an important effect on the position of the phase transition. Under the lowest landau level approximation at zero temperature, the longitudinal compressibility has a direct inverse proportional relation to the magnetic field strength and the chemical potential square as $κ_{LLL, χ}^{∥} \propto 1/ (e B μ^{2})$ .

First measurement of the $^{10} B (α, n)^{13} N$ reaction in an inertial confinement fusion implosion at the National Ignition Facility: Initial steps toward the development of a radiochemistry mix diagnostic

We report the first measurement of the $^{10} B (α, n)^{13} N$ reaction in a polar-direct-drive exploding pusher (PDXP) at the National Ignition Facility (NIF). This work is motivated by the need to develop alternative mix diagnostics, radiochemistry being the focus here. The target is composed of a $65/35 at. %$ deuterium-tritium (DT) fill surrounded by a roughly $30 μ m$ thick beryllium ablator. The inner portion of the beryllium ablator is doped with $10 at. %$ of $^{10} B$ . Radiation-hydrodynamics calculations were performed in 1D to optimize both the remaining boron rho-R and the DT neutron yield. A charged-particle transport post-processor has been developed to study $α$ -induced reactions on the ablator material. Results indicate a large $^{13} N$ production from $α$ -induced reactions on $^{10} B$ , measurable by the radiochemical analysis of gaseous samples system at the NIF. The PDXP target N201115-001 was successfully fielded on the NIF, and nitrogen from the $^{10} B (α, n)^{13} N$ reaction was measured. The $^{13} N$ production yield, as well as the DT neutron yield, was, however, lower than expected. Some of the reduced yields can be explained by the oblate shape, but the ratios of the various radiochemical signals are not commensurate with expectations based on a simple reduction of the 1D results. Preliminary 2D radiation-hydrodynamics computations are consistent with the experimental measurements, and work is ongoing to extend the radiochemistry analysis into higher dimensions.

Cluster Reducibility of Multiquark Operators and Tetraquark-Adequate QCD Sum Rules

If connecting properties of a multiquark hadron with those exhibited by its constituents, QCD sum rules inferred along the routes of traditional wisdom necessarily involve contributions not related at all to and thus not presenting information about multiquarks. Realizing this deficiency, we propose to increase, for the example of tetraquarks, the predictive power of the QCD sum-rule formalism by disposal of all of the unwanted contributions from the very beginning; this move is easily accomplished by subjecting the contributions to our perspicuous selection criterion.

The slope, the hill, the drop, and the swoosh: Learning about the nuclear matter equation of state from the binary Love relations

Analyses that connect astrophysical observations of neutron stars with nuclear matter properties sometimes rely on equation-of-state insensitive relations. We show that the slope of the binary Love relations (i.e.~between the tidal deformabilities of binary neutron stars) encodes the rate of change of the nuclear matter speed of sound below three times nuclear saturation density. Twin stars lead to relations that present a signature ''hill'', ''drop'', and ''swoosh'' due to the second (mass-radius) stable branch, requiring a new description of the binary love relations.

Thermal modification of open heavy-flavor mesons from an effective hadronic theory

We have developed a self-consistent theoretical approach to study the modification of the properties of heavy mesons in hot mesonic matter which takes into account chiral and heavy-quark spin-flavor symmetries. The heavy-light meson-meson unitarized scattering amplitudes in coupled channels incorporate thermal corrections by using the imaginary-time formalism, as well as the dressing of the heavy mesons with the self-energies. We report our results for the ground-state thermal spectral functions and the implications for the excited mesonic states generated dynamically in the heavy-light molecular model. We have applied these to the calculation of meson Euclidean correlators and transport coefficients for D mesons and summarize here our findings.

Pseudo-spontaneous $U (1)$ Symmetry Breaking in Hydrodynamics and Holography

We investigate the low-energy dynamics of systems with pseudo-spontaneously broken $U (1)$ symmetry and Goldstone phase relaxation. We construct a hydrodynamic framework which is able to capture these, in principle independent, effects. We consider two generalisations of the standard holographic superfluid model by adding an explicit breaking of the $U (1)$ symmetry by either sourcing the charged bulk scalar or by introducing an explicit mass term for the bulk gauge field. We find agreement between the hydrodynamic dispersion relations and the quasi-normal modes of both holographic models. We verify that phase relaxation arises only due to the breaking of the inherent Goldstone shift symmetry. The interplay of a weak explicit breaking of the $U (1)$ and phase relaxation renders the DC electric conductivity finite but does not result in a Drude-like peak. In this scenario we show the validity of a universal relation, found in the context of translational symmetry breaking, between the phase relaxation rate, the mass of the pseudo-Goldstone and the Goldstone diffusivity.

Chromoelectric and chromomagnetic correlators at high temperature from gradient flow

The heavy quark diffusion coefficient is encoded in the spectral functions of the chromoelectric and the chromomagnetic correlators that are calculable on the lattice. We study the chromoelectric and the chromomagnetic correlator in the deconfined phase of SU(3) gauge theory using Symanzik flow at two temperatures $1.5 T_{c}$ and $10000 T_{c}$ , with $T_{c}$ being the phase transition temperature. To control the lattice discretization errors and perform the continuum limit we use several temporal lattice extents $N_{t} = 16, 20, 24$ and 28. We observe that the flow time dependence of the chromomagnetic correlator is quite different from chromoelectric correlator most likely due to the anomalous dimension of the former as has been pointed out recently in the literature.
