Ab initio no-core solutions for Li

    Ik Jae Shin🇰🇷 · Youngman Kim🇰🇷 · Pieter Maris🇺🇸 · James P. Vary🇺🇸 · Christian Forssén🇸🇪 · Jimmy Rotureau🇸🇪 · Nicolas Michel🇺🇸

We solve for properties of Li in the ab initio No-Core Full Configuration approach and we separately solve for its ground state and resonance with the Gamow Shell Model in the Berggren basis. We employ both the JISP16 and chiral NNLO realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions and investigate the ground state energy, excitation energies, point proton root-mean-square radius and a suite of electroweak observables. We also extend and test methods to extrapolate the ground state energy, point proton root-mean-square radius, and electric quadrupole moment. We attain improved estimates of these observables in the No-Core Full Configuration approach by using basis spaces up through N=18 that enable more definitive comparisons with experiment. Using the Density Matrix Renormalization Group approach with the JISP16 interaction, we find that we can significantly improve the convergence of the Gamow Shell Model treatment of the Li ground state and resonance by adopting a natural orbital single-particle basis.

Two-loop study of the deconfinement transition in Yang-Mills theories: SU(3) and beyond

    U. Reinosa🇫🇷 · J. Serreau🇫🇷 · M. Tissier🇫🇷 · N. Wschebor🇺🇾

We study the confinement-deconfinement phase transition of pure Yang-Mills theories at finite temperature using a simple massive extension of standard background field methods. We generalize our recent next-to-leading-order perturbative calculation of the Polyakov loop and of the related background field effective potential for the SU(2) theory to any compact and connex Lie group with a simple Lie algebra. We discuss in detail the SU(3) theory, where the two-loop corrections yield improved values for the first-order transition temperature as compared to the one-loop result. We also show that certain one-loop artifacts of thermodynamical observables disappear at two-loop order, as was already the case for the SU(2) theory. In particular, the entropy and the pressure are positive for all temperatures. Finally, we discuss the groups SU(4) and Sp(2) which shed interesting light, respectively, on the relation between the (de)confinement of static matter sources in the various representations of the gauge group and on the use of the background field itself as an order parameter for confinement. In both cases, we obtain first-order transitions, in agreement with lattice simulations and other continuum approaches.

Production of as a hadronic molecule state of in annihilations

    Wen Qin🇨🇳 · Si-Run Xue🇨🇳 · Qiang Zhao🇨🇳

We study the production mechanism in annihilations in the framework of hadronic molecules and investigate the consequence of such a picture in different decay channels. In the hadronic molecule picture the is described as a mixture state composed of a long-ranged molecule state and a compact component. We show that the compositeness relation can still provide a reasonable constraint on the wavefunction renormalization parameter due to the dominance of the molecular component. Such a mechanism can be regarded as a natural consequence of the heavy quark spin symmetry (HQSS) breaking. This study elaborates the molecular picture for the in the annihilations and affirms that the cross section lineshape of in the vicinity of the should have a nontrivial behavior. In this framework we predict that the upper limit of the leptonic decay width is about 500 eV. We also investigate the coupling for in the quark model and examine the possible HQSS breaking effects due to the deviation from the and ideal mixing. This will in turn provide a constraint on the HQSS breaking coupling for the to via its component.

Joint transverse momentum and threshold resummation beyond NLL

    Gillian Lustermans🇳🇱 · Wouter J. Waalewijn🇳🇱 · Lisa Zeune🇳🇱

To describe the transverse momentum spectrum of heavy color-singlet production, the joint resummation of threshold and transverse momentum logarithms is investigated. We obtain factorization theorems for various kinematic regimes valid to all orders in the strong coupling, using Soft-Collinear Effective Theory. We discuss how these enable resummation and how to combine regimes. The new ingredients in the factorization theorems are calculated at next-to-leading order, and a range of consistency checks is performed. Our framework goes beyond the current next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy (NLL).

Scattering solutions of Bethe-Salpeter equation in Minkowski and Euclidean spaces

    J. Carbonell🇫🇷 · V.A. Karmanov🇷🇺

We shortly review different methods to obtain the scattering solutions of the Bethe-Salpeter equation in Minkowski space. We emphasize the possibility to obtain the zero energy observables in terms of the Euclidean scattering amplitude.

Complete Study of Hadroproduction of a Meson Associated with a Prompt

    Hua-Sheng Shao🇨🇭 · Yu-Jie Zhang🇨🇳

We present the first complete study of and prompt production from single-parton scattering, including the complete color-singlet contribution, the electroweak contribution, the complete nonrelativistic S-wave and P-wave color-octet contribution as well as the feeddown contribution. Our study was motivated by the recent evidence reported by D0 Collaboration of prompt and simultaneous production at the Tevatron. With our complete evaluation, we are able to refine the determination of the double parton scattering contribution made by D0 Collaboration. We find that the effective cross section characterizing the importance of double-parton scatterings is mb at confidence level from the D0 measurement.
