Isovector density and isospin impurity in

    H. Sagawa · S. Yoshida🇨🇳 · T. Naito🇯🇵 · T. Uesaka🇯🇵 · J. Zenihiro🇯🇵 · J. Tanaka🇯🇵 · T. Suzuki🇯🇵

We study isoscalar (IS) and isovector (IV) densities in in comparison with theoretical densities calculated by Skyrme Hartree-Fock (HF) models. The charge symmetry breaking and the charge independence breaking forces are introduced to study the effect on the IV density. The effect of isospin mixing in the ground-state density is examined by using the particle-vibration coupling model taking into account the collective IV giant monopole excitation. We show a clear correlations in the IV density and isospin impurity of within the HF and the particle-vibration coupling model. We extract for the first time the experimental information of isospin impurity from the magnitude of IV density.

Radiative Correction to Lepton Proton Scatterings in Manifestly Lorentz-Invariant Chiral Perturbation Theory

    Xiong-Hui Cao🇨🇳 · Qu-Zhi Li🇨🇳 · Han-Qing Zheng🇨🇳

Manifestly Lorentz-invariant baryon chiral perturbation theory is used to calculate the radiative correction of low energy elastic lepton proton scatterings. Corrections of differential cross section and charge asymmetry are given at chiral next-to-leading order with a nonzero lepton mass, which are infrared and ultraviolet finite. The results are basically consistent with previous predictions based on hadron model calculation, but they are somewhat different from calculations based on heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory, especially in charge asymmetry.

Electromagnetic form factors of neutron and neutral stange hyperons in the oscillating view of point

    An-Xin Dai🇨🇳 · Zhong-Yi Li🇨🇳 · Lei Chang🇨🇳 · Ju-Jun Xie🇨🇳

Based on the recently precise measurements of the electron-positron annihilation reactions into a neutron and anti-neutron pair by BESIII collaboration, the effective form factor of neutron was determined in the time like region, and it was found that the effective form factor of neutron is smaller than the ones of proton. The effective form factors of neutron shows a periodic behaviour, similar to the case of proton. Here, a compared analysis for , and is performed. Fits of the available data on the effective form factors of , and with charge zero, allow to show a universal phenomenon of the oscillation behavior in their effective form factors. However, this needs to be confirmed by future precise experiments. Both theoretical and experimental investigations of this phenomenon can shed light on the reaction mechanisms of the electron-positron annihilation process.

Weinberg Operator Contribution to the Hadronic CP Violation

    Nodoka Yamanaka🇯🇵

The CP violating Weinberg operator (or the gluon chromo-electric dipole moment) is generated in many candidates of new physics beyond the standard model, and it contributes to observables such as the electric dipole moments (EDM) of the neutron, nuclei and atoms. In this proceedings contribution, we review the present understanding of the Weinberg operator as well as the result of the estimation of its effect to the EDM of He nucleus through the contact CP-odd nuclear force.

Production of Pa-230 as a Source for Medical Radionuclides U-230 and Th-226 Including Isolation by Liquid-liquid Extraction

    Aleksandr N. Vasiliev🇷🇺 · Stanislav V. Ermolaev · Elena V. Lapshina · Magdiel G. Bravo · Aino K. Skasyrskaya

The experimental cross sections of Pa-230 formation in the reaction 232Th(p,3n)230Pa for the protons energy range of 140-35 MeV are determined and compared with literature data. The yield of U-230 and impurities of U-232 and U-233 depending on the energy of protons entering a thick thorium target are estimated. Liquid-liquid extraction with 1-octanol solution and addition of Al(III) as a masking agent followed by back-extraction with 7M HNO3+0.01M HF solution allows selective Pa isolation from a solution of irradiated Th and proposes simultaneous production of medical Ac-225 and Pa-230/U-230 from the same Th-target.

Improvement of radon detector performance by using a large-sized PIN-photodiode

    K. Okamoto🇯🇵 · Y. Nakano🇯🇵 · G. Pronost🇯🇵 · H. Sekiya🇯🇵 · S. Tasaka🇯🇵 · Y. Takeuchi🇯🇵 · M. Nakahata🇯🇵

Radioactive noble gas radon () is one of the major background sources below the MeV region in rare event search experiments. To precisely measure radon concentration in purified gases, a radon detector with an electrostatic collection method is widely used. In this paper, we discussed the improvements of a radon detector by installing a new PIN-photodiode ( ) whose surface area is times larger than that used previously ( ). We evaluated the detector's performance by serially connecting two radon detectors equipped with two types of PIN-photodiodes. As a result of the calibrations, we found an improvement of in the detection efficiencies below , while a - improvement occurred above this level. The intrinsic background of the detector equipped with the large PIN-photodiode was measured as . This background level is consistent with the radon detector with the small PIN-photodiode, although we installed the large one. This improvement is useful for applications in radon emanation measurements from a material, which also emits water from its surface.

Single-Nucleon Energies Changing with Nucleon Number

    J. P. Schiffer🇺🇸 · B. P. Kay🇺🇸 · J. chen🇨🇳

The broad range of accumulated experimental data on the binding energies for single-particle states in nuclei is examined as a function of the constituent number of neutrons and protons and an unexpectedly simple pattern emerges. The dependence of the energies of neutron states on the number of constituent protons, or of proton states on the number of neutrons, are very similar to each other and the sign reflects the well-known strong attraction. For the same kind of nucleons changing as in the state -- energies for neutron states with neutron number changing or proton states with protons -- the dependence is at least a factor of four weaker in magnitude and slightly repulsive, except when the changing nucleons are only within the same orbit as the state. The systematics of the accumulated data are presented with a minimum of use made of model assumptions.

Diffractive longitudinal structure function at the Electron Ion Collider

    Nestor Armesto🇪🇸 · Paul R. Newman🇬🇧 · Wojciech Slominski🇵🇱 · Anna M. Stasto🇺🇸

Possibilities for the measurement of the longitudinal structure function in diffraction at the future US Electron Ion Collider are investigated. The sensitivity to arises from the variation of the reduced diffractive cross section with centre-of-mass energy. Simulations are performed with various sets of beam energy combinations and for different assumptions on the precision of the diffractive cross section measurements. Scenarios compatible with current EIC performance expectations lead to an unprecedented precision on at the 5-10 % level in the best measured regions. While scenarios with data at a larger number of centre-of-mass energies allow the extraction of in the widest kinematic domain and with the smallest uncertainties, even the more conservative assumptions lead to precise measurements. The ratio of photoabsorption cross sections for longitudinally to transversely polarised photons can also be obtained with high precision using a separate extraction method.
