Light Nuclei Production in Au+Au Collisions at = 3 GeV from the STAR experiment

Hui Liu (for the STAR Collaboration)🇨🇳

Light nuclei production is expected to be sensitive to baryon density fluctuations and can be used to probe the signatures of QCD critical point and/or a first-order phase transition in heavy-ion collisions. In this proceedings, we present the spectra and yields of protons () and light nuclei (, , , ) in Au+Au collisions at = 3 GeV by the STAR experiment. Finally, it is found that the kinetic freeze-out dynamics (temperature average radial flow velocity ) at 3 GeV extracted with the blast-wave model deviate from the trends at high energies ( = 7.7 - 200 GeV), indicating a different medium equation of state.

Analysis of two-proton transfer in the 40Ca(18O,20Ne)38Ar reaction at 270 MeV incident energy

Two-nucleon transfer reactions are essential tools to investigate specific features of the nuclearstructure such as the correlation among valence particles in the transfer process. Besides, transfer reactions may be an important channel to take into account in charge exchange processes since they can represent a competing contribution to the final cross section. The two-proton pickup transfer reaction 40Ca(18O,20Ne)38Ar has been measured at 270 MeV and the angular distributions for transitions to different excited states extracted. This work shows the analysis of the data performed by finite range coupled reaction channel and coupled channel Born approximation methods. Extensive shell-model calculations are performed to derive the one- and two-proton spectroscopic amplitudesfor the projectile and target overlaps. The role of the simultaneous and sequential two-proton transfer mechanisms to populate the measured final states or groups of states, mainly characterized by ahigh collectivity, is also discussed.

Longitudinal double-spin asymmetry for inclusive jet and dijet production in polarized proton collisions at GeV

    STAR Collaboration: M. S. Abdallah · B. E. Aboona · J. Adam · L. Adamczyk · J. R. Adams · J. K. Adkins · G. Agakishiev · I. Aggarwal · M. M. Aggarwal · Z. Ahammed · A. Aitbaev · I. Alekseev and 384 other authors

We report measurements of the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry, , for inclusive jet and dijet production in polarized proton-proton collisions at midrapidity and center-of-mass energy = 510 GeV, using the high luminosity data sample collected by the STAR experiment in 2013. These measurements complement and improve the precision of previous STAR measurements at the same center-of-mass energy that probe the polarized gluon distribution function at partonic momentum fraction 0.015 0.25. The dijet asymmetries are separated into four jet-pair topologies, which provide further constraints on the dependence of the polarized gluon distribution function. These measurements are in agreement with previous STAR measurements and with predictions from current next-to-leading order global analyses. They provide more precise data at low dijet invariant mass that will better constraint the shape of the polarized gluon distribution function of the proton.
