Properties of the Sachs electric form factor of the proton on the basis of recent scattering experiments and hydrogen spectroscopy

    Marko Horbatsch🇨🇦

Recently published data on the Sachs electric form factor by the PRad collaboration (Nature {\bf 575}, 147-151) are analyzed to investigate their consistency with the known proton charge radius from muonic and electronic hydrogen spectroscopy, as well as theoretical predictions from dispersively improved chiral perturbation theory. It is shown that the latter is fully consistent with the data, and pointers are given how future scattering experiments can lead to an improvement of our knowledge of the form factor in the low-momentum-transfer regime.

A new review of excitation functions of hadron production in collisions in the NICA energy range

    V.Kolesnikov🇷🇺 · V.Kireyeu🇷🇺 · V.Lenivenko🇷🇺 · A.Mudrokh🇷🇺 · K.Shtejer🇷🇺 · D.Zinchenko🇷🇺 · E.Bratkovskaya🇩🇪

Data on hadron multiplicities from inelastic proton-proton interactions in the energy range of the NICA collider have been compiled. The compilation includes recent results from the NA61/SHINE and NA49 experiments at the CERN SPS accelerator. New parameterizations for excitation functions of mean multiplicities , , , , , are obtained in the region of collision energies GeV. The energy dependence of the particle yields, as well as variation of rapidity and transverse momentum distributions are discussed. A standalone algorithm for hadron phase space generation in pp collisions is suggested and compared to model predictions using an example of the PHQMD generator.

decay of odd-A nuclei with the interacting boson-fermion model based on the Gogny energy density functional

    K. Nomura🇭🇷 · R. Rodríguez-Guzmán🇰🇼 · L. M. Robledo🇪🇸

The low-energy excitations and decays of odd-A nuclei are studied within the interacting boson-fermion model (IBFM), based on the Gogny-D1M nuclear energy density functional (EDF). The constrained Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) approximation is employed to compute potential energy surfaces in terms of triaxial quadrupole degrees of freedom for even-even Xe and Ba nuclei in the mass region. The mean field approximation also provides spherical single-particle energies and occupation probabilities for the neighboring odd-A nuclei. Those quantities represent a microscopic input for spectroscopic calculations in odd-A Xe and Ba, Cs and La isotopes. The Gamow-Teller (GT) and Fermi (F) transition matrix elements, needed to compute -decay values are obtained without any phenomenological fitting. It is shown that both the low-lying states and decays of the studied odd-A systems are described reasonably well within the employed theoretical framework.

    Electromagnetic transitions in near-threshold resonances

    J. Okołowicz🇵🇱 · M. Płoszajczak🇫🇷

Near-threshold collectivization of continuum shell model eigenstates is investigated in O on the example of B(E) decays of 4 states in the vicinity of elastic and inelastic neutron threshold. Changes of the electromagnetic transition probabilities as a function of the continuum-coupling strength are explained by the corresponding evolution of the double poles of the scattering matrix.

Heavy quark flow as better probes of QGP properties

    Zi-Wei Lin🇺🇸 · Hanlin Li🇨🇳 · Fuqiang Wang🇺🇸

In earlier studies we have proposed that most parton comes from the anisotropic escape of partons, not from the hydrodynamic flow, even for semi-central Au+Au collisions at GeV. Here we study the flavor dependence of this escape mechanism with a multi-phase transport model. In contrast to naive expectations, we find that the charm is much more sensitive to the hydrodynamic flow than the lighter quark , and the fraction of from the escape mechanism decreases strongly with the quark mass for large collision systems. We also find that the light quark collective flow is essential for the charm quark . Our finding thus suggests that heavy quark flows are better probes of the quark-gluon-plasma properties than light quark flows.
