Jet Production at RHIC and LHC

    Leticia Cunqueiro🇨🇭

Recent results on jet production in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and the LHC are discussed, with emphasis on inclusive jet yields and semi-inclusive hadron-triggered and vector boson-triggered recoil jet yields as well as their azimuthal angular correlations. I will also discuss the constraints that these observables impose on the opacity of the medium, the flavour dependence of energy loss, the interplay of perturbative and non perturbative effects and the change of the degrees of freedom of the medium with the resolution of the probe.

The peculiarities of emission of He(z=2) projectile fragments in the interactions of gold nuclei with Ag, Br emulssion nuclei at the energies of 10.6 AGeV

    U.U. Abdurakhmanov🇺🇿 · V.S. Navotny🇺🇿

In the interactions of gold nuclei with the energy 10.6 AGeV with the Ag, Br emulssion nuclei at the intermadiate impact parametes the dependencies of characteristics of individual emission acts of He-fragmetns on the centrality of the interaction and the degree of nucleus disintegration.

The phenomenon of fine structure of the Isoscalar Giant Quadrupole Resonance (ISGQR) has been studied with high energy-resolution proton inelastic scattering at iThemba LABS in the chain of stable even-mass Nd isotopes covering the transition from spherical to deformed ground states. A wavelet analysis of the background-subtracted spectra in the deformed 146,148,150Nd isotopes reveals characteristic scales in correspondence with scales obtained from a Skyrme RPA calculation using the SVmas10 parameterization. A semblance analysis shows that these scales arise from the energy shift between the main fragments of the K = 0, 1 and K = 2 components.

    Pentaquark states with hidden charm

    Roelof Bijker🇲🇽

I develop an extension of the usual three-flavor quark model to four flavors (u, d, s and c), and discuss the classification of pentaquark states with hidden charm. This work is motivated by the recent observation of such states by the LHCb Collatoration at CERN.
