Two-proton decay of the Ne low-lying states populated in the H(Ne,)Ne transfer reaction was studied. The two-proton width of the Ne first excited state at MeV is of importance for the two-proton radioactivity theory and nuclear-astrophysics applications. A dedicated search for the two-proton emission of this state was performed leading to the new upper limit obtained for the width ratio . A novel, "combined mass" method is suggested and tested capable to improve the resolution of the experiment which is a prime significance for the study of nuclear states with extremely small particle-to-gamma width ratios . The condition is quite common for the states of astrophysical interest which makes the proposed approach promising in this field.

Near-side jet peak broadening in Pb-Pb collisions at TeV

Monika Kofarago (for the ALICE collaboration)🇭🇺

Two-particle angular correlation measurements are sensitive probes of the interactions of particles with the medium formed in heavy-ion collisions. Such measurements are done by determining the distribution of the relative pseudorapidity () and azimuthal angle () of particles with respect to a higher trigger particle ( GeV/c). The near-side peak is fitted with a function, which includes both the near-side jet peak and also accounts for the -independent long-range correlations. The centrality evolution of the width (variance) of the fitted distribution is investigated. In Pb-Pb collisions a significant broadening of the near-side peak in the direction is observed from peripheral to central collisions, while in the direction the peak is almost independent of centrality. For the 10% most central events, a departure from the Gaussian shape is also observed at low transverse momentum ( GeV/c, GeV/c). In this contribution the results obtained by the ALICE experiment in Pb-Pb and pp collisions at TeV are shown, and they are interpreted in terms of radial and elliptic flow by comparing them to AMPT model simulations.

Novel applications of Lattice QCD: Parton distribution functions, proton charge radius and neutron electric dipole moment

Constantia Alexandrou (Univ. of Cyprus and The Cyprus Inst.)🇨🇾

We briefly discuss the current status of lattice QCD simulations and review selective results on nucleon observables focusing on recent developments in the lattice QCD evaluation of the nucleon form factors and radii, parton distribution functions and their moments, and the neutron electric dipole moment. Nucleon charges and moments of parton distribution functions are presented using simulations generated at physical values of the quark masses, while exploratory studies are performed for the parton distribution functions and the neutron electric dipole moment at heavier than physical value of the pion mass.

Open-charm measurements in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at central rapidity with ALICE

Julien Hamon (for the ALICE Collaboration)🇫🇷

An overview of recent , , and measurements performed by ALICE at central rapidity in proton-proton collisions at and 8 TeV, as well as lead-lead collisions at TeV, is presented. An emphasis is put on the discussion of theoretical predictions with respect to the LHC Run I data.

Orientation Effect in D + D Reaction Initiated by 20 keV Deuterons at Channeling in Textured Cvd-diamond Target

Aleksandr Bagulya · Oleg Dalkarov · Mikhail Negodaev🇩🇪 · Yuriy Pivovarov · Aleksei Rusetskii · Timur Tukhfatullin

Orientation effect of increasing the enhancement factor of DD reaction in CVD-Diamond was investigated by simulation. It is obtained that the flux peaking effect up to 2.2 times increases the relative enhancement factor for a parallel beam and up to 1.2 times for the deuteron beam with angular divergence equals 3 critical channeling angles. Qualitative agreement with the experiment was obtained.
