Recent hadronic resonance measurements at ALICE

    A. G. Knospe (for the ALICE Collaboration)🇺🇸

In heavy-ion physics, measurements of short-lived hadronic resonances allow the properties of the hadronic phase of the collision to be studied. In addition, resonances can be used along with stable hadrons to study parton energy loss in the quark-gluon plasma and the mechanisms that shape hadron pT spectra at intermediate transverse momenta. Resonance measurements in small systems serve as a reference for heavy-ion collisions and contribute to searches for collective effects. An overview of recent results on hadronic resonance production measured in ALICE is presented. These results include the pT spectra and yields of the rho(770)0, K*(892)0, and phi(1020) mesons in pp, p-Pb, and Pb-Pb collisions at different energies as well as the Sigma(1385)+/- and Xi(1530)0 baryons in pp and p-Pb collisions.

Direct photon-hadron correlation measurement and a way towards photon-triggered jets at RHIC

Nihar Ranjan Sahoo (For the STAR Collaboration)🇺🇸

We report the results of and -hadron azimuthal correlations as a measure of the away-side jet-like correlated yields in central Au+Au and p+p collisions at =200 GeV in the STAR experiment. The charged-hadron per-trigger yields at mid-rapidity with respect to high- and in central Au+Au collisions are compared with p+p collisions. Within uncertainties, the same (~ / ) dependence of the suppression is observed for and - triggers. The results are compared with energy-loss model predictions. The measurements can provide further understanding on the redistribution of in-medium energy loss. Ongoing studies in the STAR experiment are also discussed.

Investigation of 11B+197Au Reaction at Intermediate Energies

    G. S. Karapetyan🇧🇷 · N. A. Demekhina · A. R. Balabekyan

Mechanism of nuclear reactions on 197Au induced by 11B ions at energies above Coulomb barrier was studied by induced-activity method and gamma-spectroscopy. The cross sections of the reaction fragments from 197Au induced by 11B ions were measured at bombarding energies 137.5 and 255.5 MeV. The fission process was investigated by using multimodal fission approach at the energy 137.5 MeV, and pure symmetric distribution at 255.5 MeV. It was observed that the transferred linear momentum provides the information on the initial projectile-target information. The fissility for both fission reactions under study was deduced from measured fission cross section using the total inelastic cross section. Comparison with proton-induced fission shown, that the linear momentum transferred to the fissile system depends on the probe.

Identification of the Lowest , Isobaric Analog State in Co and Its Impact on the Understanding of -Decay Properties of Ni

    X. Xu🇨🇳 · P. Zhang🇨🇳 · P. Shuai🇨🇳 · R. J. Chen🇨🇳 · X. L. Yan🇨🇳 · Y. H. Zhang🇨🇳 · M. Wang🇹🇼 · Yu. A. Litvinov🇨🇳 · H. S. Xu🇨🇳 · T. Bao🇨🇳 · X. C. Chen🇨🇳 · H. Chen🇨🇳 and 26 other authors

Masses of Co were measured for the first time with an accuracy of keV, an unprecedented precision reached for short-lived nuclei in the isochronous mass spectrometry. Combining our results with the previous - measurements of Ni, the , isobaric analog state (IAS) in Co was newly assigned, questioning the conventional identification of IASs from the -delayed proton emissions. Using our energy of the IAS in Co, the masses of the multiplet fit well into the Isobaric Multiplet Mass Equation. We find that the IAS in Co decays predominantly via transitions while the proton emission is negligibly small. According to our large-scale shell model calculations, this phenomenon has been interpreted to be due to very low isospin mixing in the IAS.

Longitudinal correlations in the initial stages of ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions

    Wojciech Broniowski🇵🇱 · Piotr Bozek🇵🇱

In this talk we review some of our results for the longitudinal correlations in connection with recent experimental data, in particular for the {\em torque} effect and for the two-particle correlations in pseudorapidity, . The model framework involves event-by-event fluctuations of the initial conditions, followed with 3D viscous hydrodynamic evolution and statistical hadronization.

    Legendre Analysis of Hadronic Reactions

    Ya.I. Azimov🇷🇺

Expansions over Legendre functions are suggested as a model-independent way of compact presentation of modern precise and high-statistics data for two-hadron reactions. Some properties of the expansions are described.

Towards a quantitative understanding of high flow harmonics

    Jorge Noronha (Sao Paulo U.)🇧🇷

In this proceedings I briefly review the recent progress achieved on the calculation of at high via the coupling of a jet energy loss model with full event-by-event viscous hydrodynamics. It is shown that that this framework can simultaneously describe experimental data for , , and at high . High is found to be approximately linearly correlated with the soft on an event-by-event basis, which opens up a new way to correlate soft and hard observables in heavy ion collisions.

Proton radius from electron-proton scattering and chiral perturbation theory

    Marko Horbatsch🇨🇦 · Eric A. Hessels🇨🇦 · Antonio Pineda🇪🇸

We determine the root-mean-square proton charge radius, , from a fit to low- electron-proton elastic scattering cross section data with the higher moments fixed (within uncertainties) to the values predicted by chiral perturbation theory. We obtain fm. This number falls between the value obtained from muonic hydrogen analyses and the CODATA value (based upon atomic hydrogen spectroscopy and electron-proton scattering determinations).

Delayed versus accelerated quarkonium formation in a magnetic field

    Kei Suzuki🇰🇷 · Su Houng Lee🇰🇷

Formation time of heavy quarkonia in a homogeneous magnetic field is analyzed by using a phenomenological ansatz of the vector current correlator. Because the existence of a magnetic field mixes vector quarkonia (, ) and their pseudoscalar partners (, ), the properties of the quarkonia can be modified through such a spin mixing. This means that the formation time of quarkonia is also changed by the magnetic field. We show the formation time of vector quarkonia is delayed by an idealized constant magnetic field, where the formation time of the excited state becomes longer than that of the ground state. As a more realistic situation in heavy-ion collisions, effects by a time-dependent magnetic field are also discussed, where delayed formation of and and very early formation of and are found.

    Wojciech Broniowski🇵🇱 · Piotr Bozek🇵🇱 · Maciej Rybczynski🇵🇱

We review the results of the wounded quark model, with a stress on eccentricity observables in small systems. A new element is a presentation of symmetric cumulants for the elliptic and triangular flow correlations, obtained in the wounded-quark approach.
