The total cross sections were measured for coherent double neutral-pion photoproduction on the deuteron at incident energies below 0.9 GeV for the first time. No clear resonance-like behavior is observed in the excitation function for --2.61 GeV, where the dibaryon resonance observed at COSY is expected to appear. The measured excitation function is consistent with the existing theoretical calculation for this reaction. The upper limit of the total cross section is found to be ~b for the dibaryon resonance at ~GeV (90\% confidence level) in the reaction.

Transverse momentum and multiplicity fluctuations in Ar+Sc collisions at the CERN SPS from NA61/SHINE

Evgeny Andronov (for the NA61/SHINE Collaboration)

The NA61/SHINE experiment aims to discover the critical point of strongly interacting matter and study the properties of the onset of deconfinement. For these goals a scan of the two dimensional phase diagram (-) is being performed at the SPS by measurements of hadron production in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus interactions as a function of collision energy and system size. In this contribution preliminary results on transverse momentum and multiplicity fluctuations expressed in terms of strongly intensive quantities from the Ar+Sc energy scan will be presented. These fluctuations are expected to be sensitive to the existence of a critical point. The results are compared with results from the p+p and Be+Be energy scan as well as with NA49 measurements.

On the History of Dibaryons and their Final Observation

    H. Clement🇩🇪

A review is given about the long-standing search for dibaryons, i.e. six-quark objects, from the early days until present, when the first dibaryon resonance has been established, which has the potential of constituting a compact six-quark object.

Towards an automated tool to evaluate the impact of the nuclear modification of the gluon density on quarkonium, D and B meson production in proton-nucleus collisions

    Jean-Philippe Lansberg🇫🇷 · Hua-Sheng Shao🇨🇭

We propose a simple and model-independent procedure to account for the impact of the nuclear modification of the gluon density as encoded in nuclear collinear PDF sets on two-to-two partonic hard processes in proton-nucleus collisions. This applies to a good approximation to quarkonium, D and B meson production, generically referred to H. Our procedure consists in parametrising the square of the parton scattering amplitude, A_{gg -> H X} and constraining it from the proton-proton data. Doing so, we have been able to compute the corresponding nuclear modification factors for J/psi, Upsilon and D^0 as a function of y and P_T at sqrt(s_NN)=5 and 8 TeV in the kinematics of the various LHC experiments in a model independent way. It is of course justified since the most important ingredient in such evaluations is the probability of each kinematical configuration. Our computations for D mesons can also be extended to B meson production. To further illustrate the potentiality of the tool, we provide --for the first time-- predictions for the nuclear modification factor for eta_c production in pPb collisions at the LHC.
