The photoproduction of 2 mesons off protons was studied with the Crystal Barrel/TAPS experiment at the electron accelerator ELSA in Bonn. The energy of photons produced in a radiator was tagged in the energy range from 600\,MeV to 2.5\,GeV. Differential and total cross sections and Dalitz plots are presented. Part of the data was taken with a diamond radiator producing linearly polarized photons, and beam asymmetries were derived. Properties of nucleon and resonances contributing to the final state were determined within the BnGa partial wave analysis. The data presented here allow us to determine branching ratios of nucleon and resonances for their decays into via several intermediate states. Most prominent are decays proceeding via , , , , but also , , and contribute to the reaction.

General transformation of alpha cluster model wave function to jj-coupling shell model in various 4N nuclei

    N. Itagaki🇯🇵 · H. Matsuno · T. Suhara🇯🇵

The antisymmetrized quasi-cluster model (AQCM) is a method to describe a transition from the alpha-cluster wave function to the jj-coupling shell model wave function. In this model, the cluster-shell transition is characterized by only two parameters; R representing the distance between alpha clusters and Lambda describing the breaking of alpha clusters, and the contribution of the spin-orbit interaction, very important in the jj-coupling shell model, can be taken into account starting with the alpha cluster model wave function. In this article we show the generality of AQCM by extending the application to heavier region; various 4N nuclei from 4He to 52Fe. We show and compare the energy curves for the alpha+40Ca cluster configuration calculated with and without alpha breaking effect in 44Ti.

Measurement of neutrino flux from the primary proton--proton fusion process in the Sun with Borexino detector

    O. Y. Smirnov🇷🇺 · M. Agostini🇩🇪 · S. Appel🇩🇪 · G. Bellini🇮🇹 · J. Benziger🇺🇸 · D. Bick🇩🇪 · G. Bonfini🇮🇹 · D. Bravo🇺🇸 · B. Caccianiga🇮🇹 · F. Calaprice🇺🇸 · A. Caminata🇮🇹 · P. Cavalcante🇮🇹 and 85 other authors

Neutrino produced in a chain of nuclear reactions in the Sun starting from the fusion of two protons, for the first time has been detected in a real-time detector in spectrometric mode. The unique properties of the Borexino detector provided an oppurtunity to disentangle pp-neutrino spectrum from the background components. A comparison of the total neutrino flux from the Sun with Solar luminosity in photons provides a test of the stability of the Sun on the 10 years time scale, and sets a strong limit on the power production in the unknown energy sources in the Sun of no more than 4\% of the total energy production at 90\% C.L.
