    Transverse Wobbling in Pr

    A pair of transverse wobbling bands has been observed in the nucleus Pr. The wobbling is characterized by =1, E2 transitions between the bands, and a decrease in the wobbling energy confirms its transverse nature. Additionally, a transition from transverse wobbling to a three-quasiparticle band comprised of strong magnetic dipole transitions is observed. These observations conform well to results from calculations with the Tilted Axis Cranking (TAC) model and the Quasiparticle Triaxial Rotor (QTR) Model.

    Average and recommended half-life values for two neutrino double beta decay

    All existing positive results on two neutrino double beta decay in different nuclei were analyzed. Using the procedure recommended by the Particle Data Group, weighted average values for half-lives of Ca, Ge, Se, Zr, Mo, Mo - Ru (), Cd, Te, Xe, Nd, Nd - Sm () and U were obtained. Existing geochemical data were analyzed and recommended values for half-lives of Te, and Ba are proposed. Given the measured half-life values, nuclear matrix elements were calculated using latest (more reliable and precise) values for phase space factor. Finally, previous results (PRC 81 (2010) 035501) were up-dated and results for Xe were added.

    Constraining the nuclear matter equation of state around twice saturation density

    Using FOPI data on elliptic flow in Au+Au collisions between 0.4 and 1.5A GeV we extract constraints for the equation of state (EOS) of compressed symmetric nuclear matter using the transport code IQMD by introducing an observable describing the evolution of the size of the elliptic flow as a function of rapidity. This observable is sensitive to the nuclear EOS and a robust tool to constrain the compressibility of nuclear matter up to 2 .
