    Experimental spectra analysis in THM with the help of simulation based on Geant4 framework

    The Coulomb barrier and electron screening cause difficulties in directly measuring nuclear reaction cross sections of charged particles in astrophysical energies. The Trojan-horse method has been introduced to solve the difficulties as a powerful indirect tool. In order to understand experimental spectra better, Geant4 is employed to simulate the method for the first time. Validity and reliability of the simulation are examined by comparing the experimental data with simulated results. The Geant4 simulation can give useful information to understand the experimental spectra better in data analysis and is beneficial to the design for future related experiments.

    Hadron yields and the phase diagram of strongly interacting matter

    New measurements of neutron electric dipole moment with double chamber EDM spectrometer

    The article presents results on neutron electric dipole moment measurements (EDM), made by ILL reactor using PNPI experimental installation. Double chamber magnetic resonance spectrometer with prolonged holding of ultra cold neutrons has been employed. The obtained results at 90% confidence level determine the upper limit for EDM neutron quantity equal to ecm.

    The QCD Equation of State to from Lattice QCD

    We present first results from a first-principles calculation of the QCD equation of state to , where is the baryon chemical potential. We find that second-order corrections are sufficient for a large part of the freeze-out temperature and baryon chemical potential range achieved by the RHIC beam energy scan. Nevertheless, higher-order corrections are necessary to extend the validity of the equation of state down to beam energies GeV.

    Effects of short-range correlation reduced kinetic symmetry energy in heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies

    Besides earlier predictions based on both phenomenological models and modern microscopic many-body theories, circumstantial evidence was recently found for a reduced kinetic symmetry energy of isospin-asymmetric nucleonic matter compared to the free Fermi gas model prediction due to the short-range correlation of high-momentum neutron-proton pairs. While keeping the total symmetry energy near the saturation density of nuclear matter consistent with existing experimental constraints, we examine the correspondingly enhanced role of the isospin degree of freedom in heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies due to the reduced (enhanced) kinetic (potential) symmetry energy. Important observable consequences are investigated.

    Borromean structures in medium-heavy nuclei

    Borromean nuclear cluster structures are expected at the corresponding driplines. We locate the regions in the nuclear chart with the most promising constituents, it being protons and alpha-particles and investigate in details the properties of the possible borromean two-alpha systems in medium heavy nuclei. We find in all cases that the alpha-particles are located at the surface of the core-nucleus as dictated by Coulomb and centrifugal barriers. The two lowest three-body bound states resemble a slightly contracted nucleus outside the core. The next two excited states have more complex structures but with strong components of linear configurations with the core in the middle. Alpha-removal cross sections would be enhanced with specific signatures for these two different types of structures. The even-even borromean two-alpha nucleus, Ba, is specifically investigated and predicted to have structure in its ground state and low-lying spectrum.
