Field-induced axion decay $a \to e^{+} e^{-}$ via plasmon

Abstract

The axion decay $a \to e^{+} e^{-}$ via a plasmon is investigated in an external magnetic field. The results we have obtained demonstrate a strong catalyzing influence of the field as the axion lifetime in the magnetic field of order $1 0^{15}$ G and at temperature of order 10 MeV is reduced to $1 0^{4}$ sec.
