The status of the determination of $\alpha (m_Z)$ and ${\alpha }_s(m_z)$

Abstract

I will discuss the current status of the determination of $\alpha (m_Z)$ and ${\alpha }_s(m_Z)$, emphasizing the pitfalls that one must avoid in performing statistical analyses.
