Long Distance Contributions to Penguin Processes and

Abstract

We consider the long distance contributions to inclusive penguin processes through processes like and where are states in the former case and include , for the latter case. We carefully examine vector dominance for states, and conclude that there is a large suppression of transition when is at . The long distance effects can be at most 10\% in both the amplitudes for and . Although the long distance contributions are small, the ratio does not hold due to significant and loop contributions to the short distance amplitudes .
