Detecting the $tb$ Decays of a Charged Higgs Boson at a Hadron Supercollider

Abstract

We demonstrate that detection of a charged Higgs boson decaying via $\text{hpm}\text{rta}tb$ will be possible at the LHC in $gg\text{rta}\text{hm}t\text{anti}b+\text{hp}b\text{anti}t$ events, provided the $\text{hp}\text{rta}t\text{anti}b$ coupling is substantial, $\text{mt}\text{gsim}110\text{gev}$, and reasonably efficient and pure $b$-tagging can be performed.
