Complete angular analysis of the decay cascade $B\to D^{\ast \ast }(\to D^{\ast }(\to D\pi )+\pi )+W(\to l\nu )$

Abstract

We develop a general algorithm for describing angular decay distributions in cascade decay chains of arbitrary length. The general algorithm is used to study joint angular decay distributions for the cascade decay $B\to D^{\ast \ast }(\to D^{\ast }(\to D\pi )+\pi )+W(\to l\nu )$ where the $D^{\ast \ast }$ is a generic $P$-wave charm meson state. Lepton mass effects are fully incorporated
