Abstract

The decay $B \to f_{0} (980) K i ss t u d i e d w i t hin t h e f r am e w or k o f QC D f a c t or i z a t i o nan d t h e tw o - q u a r k sce na r i o f or$ f_0(980) $. T h er e a r e tw o d i s t in c tp e n g u in co n t r ib u t i o n s an d t h e i r in t er f er e n ce d e p e n d so n t h e u nk n o w nmi x in g an g l e$ \theta $o f s t r an g e an d n o n s t r an g e q u a r k co n t e n t so f$ f_0(980) $: d es t r u c t i v e f or$ 0<\theta<\pi/2 $an d co n s t r u c t i v e f or$ \pi/2<\theta<\pi $. W e p o in t o u tt ha t i f$ f_0(980) $i s a f o u r - q u a r k s t a t e a s w i d e l y p er ce i v e d, t h er e w i l l e x i s t e x t r a d ia g r am sco n t r ib u t in g t o$ B\to f_0(980)K $. H o w e v er, in p r a c t i ce i t i s d i f f i c u l tt o mak e q u an t i t a t i v e p r e d i c t i o n s ba se d o n t h e f o u r - q u a r k p i c t u r e f or$ f_0(980) $a s i t in v o l v es a dd i t i o na l n o n f a c t or i z ab l eco n t r ib u t i o n s t ha t a r e d i f f i c u l tt oes t ima t e an d t h ec a l c u l a t i o n so f t h e d ec a y co n s t an t an df or m f a c t or so f$ f_0(980)$ are beyond the conventional quark model.
