Scalar meson exchange in phi->P0P0gamma decays

Abstract

The scalar meson exchange in $\varphi \to P^0{P}^0\gamma$ decays is discussed in a chiral invariant framework where the scalar meson poles are incorporated explicitly. $\varphi \to {\pi }^0{\pi }^0\gamma$ and $\varphi \to {\pi }^0\eta \gamma$ are in agreement with recent experimental data and can be used to extract valuable information on the properties of $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ respectively. $\varphi \to K^0{\bar{K}}^0\gamma$ is shown not to pose a background problem for testing CP violation at Da$\Phi$ne. The ratio $\varphi \to f_0\gamma /a_0\gamma$ is also predicted.
