Abstract

I provide a detailed exposition of the fundamental group calculations in the ``reverse engineering" construction of an exotic ${\text{CP}}^2\#3{\overline{\text{CP}}}^2$ and of an exotic ${\text{CP}}^2\#2{\overline{\text{CP}}}^2$.
