Abstract

In this work, to establish a more abundant baryon spectrum, we discuss the production potentials of the excited baryons through hadronic weak decays within a constituent quark model. Based on our successful explanations of the existing experimental data for the processes, we further calculate the decay rates of the baryon into the -, -, -, -, -, -, and -wave excited states. It is found that these excitations have a large production rate in the hadronic weak decay process associated meson emitting, i.e., , their branching fractions can reach up to . To search for the higher -, -, -, and -wave states, the , and decays are worth observing in future experiments.
