Evidence for the existence of a flavor-sextet charmed meson?

Abstract

Recently, the LHCb Collaboration reported a signal for a new resonance in the $D_s^{+}{\pi }^{\pm }$ invariant mass distribution in the decays $B\to {\bar{D}}^{(\ast )}{D}_s^{+}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{-}$ (arXiv:2411.03399). This could be a direct observation of an SU(3) flavor-sextet charmed meson with $J^P=0^{+}$. Such an SU(3) multiplet, is beyond the conventional quark-antiquark picture, and thus a verification of this observation is important.
