On connection of the cosmic-ray coplanarity of most energetic particles with the collider long-range near-side "ridge" effect

Abstract

Coplanarity of subcores of $\gamma$-ray--hadron families found in cosmic-ray experiments at $E_0\gtrsim 10^{16}$ eV requires appearance of a coplanar generation of most energetic particles. Long-range near-side "ridge" effect in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV was found by the CMS Collaboration in two-particle $\Delta \eta -\Delta \phi$ correlation functions at $|\Delta \eta |\gtrsim 3$ and $|\Delta \phi |\approx 0$. The FANSY 2.0 model reproduces both the hadron coplanarity and "ridge" effect.
