Abstract

We investigate the possibility to study the charmed-strange mesons and by kaon-induced reactions on a proton target in an effective Lagrangian approach. The production process is described by the -channel and exchanges, respectively. Our theoretical approach is based on the chiral unitary theory where the and resonances are dynamically generated. Within the coupling constants of the to and to channels obtained from the chiral unitary theory, the total and differential cross sections of the and are evaluated. The initial state interaction mediated by Pomeron and Reggeon exchanges is also included, which reduces the production cross sections of the and . If measured in future experiments, the predicted total cross sections and specific features of the angular distributions can be used to test the (molecular) nature of the and .
