$Δ m_{D}$ and $Δ Γ_{D}$ revisted

Abstract

The lifetime difference ( $y_{D} = Δ Γ_{D} /2 Γ_{D}$ ) and mass difference ( $x_{D} = Δ m_{D} / Γ_{D}$ ) of neutral $D$ meson have been measured with $y_{D} = (0.80 \pm 0.13)$ and $x_{D} = (0.59 \pm 0.20)$ , respectively. Intriguingly, in contrast with the cases of $K$ and $B_{q}$ systems, the current data indicate that $y_{D} / x_{D} \sim 1$ and $y_{D}$ favors to be larger than $x_{D}$ . For explaining the experimental indication, we here study the $D - D ˉ$ oscillation in the framework of unparticle physics. We demonstrate that {\it the peculiar phase appearing in off-shell unparticle propagator} could play an important role on $x_{D}$ and $y_{D}$ .
