    Quasifission dynamics in microscopic theories

    K. Godbey · A.S. Umar

In the search for superheavy elements quasifission reactions represent one of the reaction pathways that curtail the formation of an evaporation residue. In addition to its importance in these searches quasifission is also an interesting dynamic process that could assist our understanding of many-body dynamical shell effects and energy dissipation thus forming a gateway between deep-inelastic reactions and fission. This manuscript gives a summary of recent progress in microscopic calculations of quasifission employing time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) theory and its extensions.

Effects of a parallel electromagnetic field in three-flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model

    Gaoqing Cao🇨🇳

In this work, we explore the ground state of QCD system and the relevant collective modes in a parallel electromagnetic (EM) field within the effective three-flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. From the features of neutral chiral condensates, three critical EM fields are identified in our study: . Moreover, competition between QCD and QED anomalies is found: the negativeness of and is a signal of QCD anomaly dominance for all the flavors, and the positiveness of beyond indicates QED anomaly dominance for strange quark. For the lowest-lying neutral collective modes, the masses of and modes reduce to zero around the critical EM fields and the scalar-pseudoscalar components are exchanged between and modes, as can be seen in the crossing structure.

Hydrodynamics from quantum fields: a regularized expansion from the Wigner distribution

    Leonardo Tinti🇩🇪

Second-order relativistic hydrodynamics is surprisingly predictive, even in the presence of large gradients. The hydrodynamic expansion from the method of moments does not require a gradient expansion, but it is intrinsically bound to the classic nature of relativistic kinetic theory. In this work a modified version of the method of moments is applied the Wigner distribution (the quantum precursor of the distribution function) to recover a systematically improvable hydrodynamic expansion, avoiding the divergences that would otherwise appear in the quantum case. The convergence of the regularized expansion is checked numerically in a far from equilibrium, distant from the kinetic limit case.
