Dynamical Derivation of the Momentum Space Shell Structure for Quarkyonic Matter

    Kie Sang Jeong🇰🇷 · Larry McLerran🇺🇸 · Srimoyee Sen🇺🇸

The phase space structure of zero temperature Quarkyonic Matter is a Fermi sphere of Quark Matter, surrounded by a shell of Nucleonic Matter. We construct a quasi particle model of Quarkyonic Matter based on the constituent quark model, where the quark and nucleon masses are related by m_Q = m_N/N_c, and N_c is the number of quark colors. The region of occupied states is for quarks k_Q < k_F/N_c, and for nucleons k_F < k_N < k_F + \Delta. We first consider the general problem of Quarkyonic Matter with hard core nucleon interactions. We then specialize to a quasi-particle model where the hard core nucleon interactions are accounted for by an excluded volume. In this model, we show that the nucleonic shell forms past some critical density related to the hard core size, and for large densities becomes a thin shell. We explore the basic features of such a model, and argue this model has the semi-quantitative behaviour needed to describe neutron stars.

Hadronization using the Wigner function approach for a multiphase transport model

    Feng-Tao Wang🇨🇳 · Jun Xu🇨🇳

In the string melting version of a multiphase transport model, the hadronization algorithm has been improved by favoring parton combinations close in not only coordinate space but also momentum space. Formation probabilities of mesons, baryons, and antibaryons during hadronization are determined by their corresponding Wigner functions for the valence parton combinations with no free parameters, and the net baryon, electric, and strangeness charges are conserved during quark coalescence. Effects of the hadronization on anisotropic flows, collision energy dependence of the proton directed flow, relative particle yield ratios, as well as di-hadron correlations in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at the energies ranging from RHIC beam energy scan to LHC have been extensively discussed.

Evolution of nuclear structure in and around Z=50 closed shell: Generalized Seniority in Cd, Sn and Te isotopes

Bhoomika Maheshwari · Hasan Abu Kassim · Norhasliza Yusof · Ashok Kumar Jain

We study the quadrupole moments and the B(E2; ) values for the states and the first states, respectively, by using a multi-j generalized seniority approach in the Cd (Z = 48), Sn (Z = 50) and Te (Z = 52) isotopic chains. The g-factor trends have also been discussed. Although, Cd and Te isotopes represent two-proton hole and two-proton particle systems, thus involving both kind of particles (protons and neutrons) in contrast to Sn (Z = 50) where only neutrons play a role, we find that a similar model based on neutron valence space alone is able to explain nearly all the gross features and trends. This paper represents the first attempt to test the validity of the generalized seniority scheme away from the semi-magic region and appears to be surprisingly successful. The linearly varying quadrupole moments in Cd, Sn and Te isotopes, are described by using a consistent multi-j configuration. The asymmetric double-hump behavior of B(E2) values in Cd and Te isotopes are understood in a manner identical to that of Sn isotopes by using the generalized seniority scheme for the first time. No shell quenching is supported in the calculations; hence, the neutron magic numbers, N = 50 and N = 82, remain robust in these isotopic chains.

Density-dependent van der Waals model under the GW170817 constraint

    O. Lourenço · M. Dutra · C. H. Lenzi · M. Bhuyan · S. K. Biswal · B. M. Santos

We propose a density-dependent function for the attractive interaction in the original van der Waals model to correctly describe the flow constraint at the high-density regime of the symmetric nuclear matter. After a generalization to asymmetric nuclear matter, it was also possible to study the stellar matter regime from this new model. The mass-radius relation for neutron stars under -equilibrium is found to agree with recent X-ray observations. The neutron star masses supported against gravity, obtained from some parametrizations of the model, are in the range of , compatible with observational data from the PSR J0348+0432 pulsar. Furthermore, we verify the reliability of the model in predicting tidal deformabilities of the binary system related to the GW170817 neutron star merger event and find a full agreement with the new bounds obtained by the LIGO/Virgo collaboration.

Single-Energy Partial Wave Analysis for Photoproduction on Proton with Fixed- Analyticity Imposed

    H. Osmanović🇧🇦 · M. Hadžimehmedović🇧🇦 · R. Omerović🇧🇦 · J. Stahov🇧🇦 · M. Gorchtein🇩🇪 · V. Kashevarov🇩🇪 · K. Nikonov🇩🇪 · M. Ostrick🇩🇪 · L. Tiator🇩🇪 · A. Švarc🇭🇷

High precision data of the reaction from its threshold up to ~GeV have been used in order to perform a single-energy partial wave analysis with minimal model dependence. Continuity in energy was achieved by imposing constraints from fixed- analyticity in an iterative procedure. Reaction models were only used as starting point in the very first iteration. We demonstrate that with this procedure partial wave amplitudes can be obtained which show only a minimal dependence on the initial model assumptions.
