Axial anomaly and hadronic properties in a nuclear medium

    G. Fejos🇯🇵 · A. Hosaka🇯🇵

We investigate meson and nucleon dynamics at finite baryon density and temperature by coupling the nucleon field and the omega meson to the three-flavor linear sigma model and calculate hadronic properties around the nuclear liquid-gas transition. We apply the functional renormalization group method, and find that mesonic fluctuations increase the strength of the coefficient of the breaking determinant operator as a function of the chiral condensate. As a consequence, we find that the actual value of the anomaly increases discontinuously at the first order nuclear liquid-gas transition. We calculate how mesonic masses and partial restoration of chiral symmetry are modified due to such an effect.

mesons with hidden charm arising from and dynamics

    Xiu-Lei Ren🇩🇪 · Brenda B. Malabarba🇧🇷 · Li-Sheng Geng🇨🇳 · K. P. Khemchandani🇨🇳 · A. Martinez Torres🇧🇷

Inspired by the recent discovery of the pentaquark states and , which can be viewed as excited nucleon states with hidden charm, we study the three-body interaction of a kaon and a pair of in isospin 0 and 1. We show that the two body interactions stringently constrained by the existence of the , , , and , which are widely believed to contain large , , and components, inevitably lead to the existence of a heavy meson with hidden charm. Concrete coupled channel three-body calculations yield its mass and width as MeV with . This state, if found experimentally, definitely cannot be accommodated in a picture, and therefore presents a clear case of an exotic hadron.

and Molecular States from One Boson Exchange

    Ming-Zhu Liu🇨🇳 · Tian-Wei Wu🇨🇳 · Ju-Jun Xie🇨🇳 · Manuel Pavon Valderrama🇨🇳 · Li-Sheng Geng🇨🇳

We explore the existence of and molecular states within the one boson exchange model. We regularize the potential derived in this model with a form factor and a cut-off of the order of . To determine the cut-off, we use the condition that the is reproduced as a pole in the amplitude. From this we find that the system is on the verge of binding and has an unnaturally large scattering length. For the and the systems the attraction is not enough to form a bound state. From heavy quark symmetry and the quark model we can extend the previous model to the and systems, with , and . In this case we predict a series of triply heavy pentaquark-like molecules.

Coherent vector meson production at an electron ion collider

    Michael Lomnitz🇺🇸

Exclusive vector meson electroproduction over a broad range offers a unique opportunity to probe the gluon structure of nuclei to measure nuclear shadowing, and to search for gluon saturation and/or the colored glass condensate at an Electron-Ion Collider. Understanding the kinematic distributions and cross sections for specific processes can impact detector design to maximize their acceptance and strengthen the physics case. We will discuss predictions from a Monte Carlo generator eSTARlight, a tool developed to study production of exclusive vector meson final states. We present final state distributions and production rates for the , , J/, and the states in and collisions at the different energies.
