Kaon Structure in the confining Nambu-Jona-Lasino Model

    Parada. T. P. Hutauruk🇰🇷

The elastic electromagnetic form factors in the space-like region and valence quark distribution functions for the K+ meson are calculated using the confining Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with the help of the proper-time regularization scheme, which simulates quark confinement. In this model framework, the dynamics information on the nonperturbative aspects is obtained from quark propagators and bound state amplitudes via Bethe-Salpeter equations. We found that the results on the kaon form factors and valence quark distribution functions are qualitatively in excellent agreement with the existing kaon data as well as the perturbation QCD prediction at higher .

Scattering of Klein-Gordon particles in the background of mixed scalar-vector generalized symmetric Woods-Saxon potential

    B.C. Lütfüoğlu · J. Lipovský · J. Kříž

Recently, it has been shown that the generalized symmetric Woods-Saxon potential energy, in which surface interaction terms are taken into account, describes the physical processes better than the standard form. Therefore in this study, we investigate the scattering of Klein-Gordon particles in the presence of both generalized symmetric Woods-Saxon vector and scalar potential. In one spatial dimension we obtain the solutions in terms of hypergeometric functions for spin symmetric or pseudo-spin symmetric cases. Finally, we plot transmission and reflection probabilities for incident particles with negative and positive energy for some critical arbitrary parameters and discuss the correlations for both cases.

Open bottom mesons in asymmetric nuclear matter in presence of strong magnetic fields

    Nikhil Dhale🇮🇳 · Sushruth P Reddy🇮🇳 · Amal Jahan CS🇮🇳 · Amruta Mishra🇮🇳

The modifications of the masses of the and mesons in asymmetric nuclear matter in the presence of strong magnetic fields, are investigated using a chiral effective model. The medium modifications of these open bottom mesons arise due to their interactions with the scalar mesons and the nucleons. In the magnetized nuclear matter, the proton has contributions from the Landau levels. In the chiral effective model, the masses of the and are calculated from the leading term, namely the vectorial Weinberg Tomozawa term as well as from the next to leading order contributions, i.e., due to the scalar exchange and the range terms. Due to the Weinberg-Tomozawa term, the mesons experience an attractive interaction in the symmetric nuclear matter, whereas the mesons have a repulsive interaction. Inclusion of the contributions from the scalar exchange and the range terms as well, leads to drop of the masses of both and mesons. The effect of the isospin asymmetry breaks the mass degeneracy of the and (as well as of the and ) mesons, and its effect is observed to be large at high densities. The effects of anomalous magnetic moments of the nucleons are taken into account in the present study of the masses of the open bottom mesons in magnetized nuclear matter.

Nuclear structure calculations for neutron-star crusts

Claudio Ebel · Thomas J. Bürvenich · Igor Mishustin

The goal of this paper is to investigate properties of clusterized nuclear matter which is believed to be present in crusts of neutron stars at subnuclear densities. It is assumed that the whole system can be represented by the set of Wigner-Seitz cells, each containing a nucleus and an electron background under the condition of electroneutrality. The nuclear structure calculations are performed within the relativistic mean-field model with the NL3 parametrization. The first set of calculations is performed assuming the constant electron background. The evolution of neutron and proton density distributions was systematically studied along isotopic chains until very neutron-rich system beyond the neutron dripline. Then we have replaced the uniform electron background with the realistic electron distributions, obtained within the Thomas-Fermi approximation in a self-consistent way with the proton distributions. Finally, we have investigated the evolution of the -stability valley as well as neutron and proton driplines with the electron density.
