    Dynamics of quasifission

    Quasifission is the primary reaction mechanism that limits the formation of superheavy nuclei and consequently an important ingredient for choosing the best target-projectile combinations for the heavy element searches. Quasifission is characterized by nuclear contact-times that are much longer than those found in deep-inelastic reactions, resulting in a substantial mass and charge transfer. In this manuscript we employ the fully microscopic time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) theory to study quasifission. New results are presented for the Ca+Bk system.

    Net baryon number fluctuations across the chiral phase transition at finite density in the strong coupling lattice QCD

    We investigate the net-baryon number fluctuations across the chiral phase transition at finite density in the strong coupling and chiral limit. Mesonic field fluctuations are taken into account by using the auxiliary field Monte-Carlo method. We find that the higher-order cumulant ratios, and , show oscillatory behavior around the phase boundary at , and there exists the region where the higher-order cumulant ratios are negative. The negative region of is found to shrink with increasing lattice size. This behavior agrees with the expectations from the scaling analysis.

    Heavy flavor dibaryons

    We study the two-baryon system with two units of charm looking for the possible existence of a loosely bound state resembling the dibaryon. We make use of a chiral constituent quark model tuned in the description of the baryon and meson spectra as well as the interaction. The presence of the heavy quarks makes the interaction simpler than in light baryon systems. We analyze possible quark-Pauli effects that would be present in spin-isospin saturated channels. Our results point to the non-existence of a charmed -like dibaryon, although it may appear as a resonance above the threshold.

    Radial Flow in Non-Extensive Thermodynamics and Study of Particle Spectra at LHC in the Limit of Small

    We expand the Tsallis distribution in a Taylor series of powers of (q-1), where q is the Tsallis parameter, assuming q is very close to 1. This helps in studying the degree of deviation of transverse momentum spectra and other thermodynamic quantities from a thermalized Boltzmann distribution. After checking thermodynamic consistency, we provide analytical results for the Tsallis distribution in the presence of collective flow up to the first order of (q-1). The formulae are compared with the experimental data.

    -dependence of the lightest meson resonances in QCD

    We derive the pion mass and the elastic pion-pion scattering amplitude in the QCD theta-vacuum up to next-to-leading order in chiral perturbation theory. Using the modified inverse amplitude method, we study the theta-dependence of the mass and width of the light scalar meson sigma(500) and the vector meson rho(770).

    Heavy free energy from hadronic states

    Within the spirit of the Hadron Resonance Gas model, we study a representation of the heavy free energy at temperatures below the phase transition in terms of the string and heavy-light hadrons. We discuss the string breaking phenomenon and the relevance of avoided crossings between the fundamental string and the hadron spectrum. Good agreement with lattice data is achieved.
