Final-State Interaction in Electron Scattering by Polarized Nuclei

Abstract

The cross section for the reaction ${}^{39}\vec{\mathrm{K}}(e,e^{\prime }p{)}^{38}$Ar is computed, and the dependence of the FSI on the initial polarization angles of the nucleus ${}^{39}$K is analyzed. The results are explained in a semi-classical picture of the reaction. This procedure allows us to find the best initial kinematical conditions for minimizing the FSI.
