Pion-Nucleon Physics and the Polarizabilities of the Nucleon

Abstract

I discuss recent results regarding the influence of pion-nucleon and and nucleon-resonance physics on the (spin-) polarizabilities of the nucleon as measured in (polarized) Compton scattering.
