The Interest in Kaonic-Deuterium Atoms

Abstract
K meson-deuteron scattering lengths, atomic level shifts and widths are calculated. These quantities depend on controversial kaon-nucleon scattering amplitudes extrapolated by few MeV below the threshold. Experimental consequences of several interaction models are studied.
