Abstract
An analysis of the + core properties of Te along with a global discussion on the -cluster structure above the double-shell closures is presented from the viewpoint of the local potential model. The + core interaction is described by a nuclear potential of (1 + Gaussian)(W.S. + W.S.) shape with two free parameters, which has been successfully tested in nuclei of different mass regions. The model produces values and -decay half-lives for Te in agreement with the 2018 experimental data of Auranen et al. in the energy range using an preformation factor . The comparison of the calculated reduced -widths for the ground state bands of Te, Mo and Po indicates that Te has an -cluster degree significantly higher than Mo and much higher than Po. These results point to Te as a preferential nucleus for -clustering in the region and corroborate the statement on the superallowed -decay in Te.
