Constraining beyond the Standard Model nucleon isovector charges

At the TeV scale, low-energy precision observations of neutron characteristics provide unique probes of novel physics. Precision studies of neutron decay observables are susceptible to beyond the Standard Model (BSM) tensor and scalar interactions, while the neutron electric dipole moment, , also has high sensitivity to new BSM CP-violating interactions. To fully utilise the potential of future experimental neutron physics programs, matrix elements of appropriate low-energy effective operators within neutron states must be precisely calculated. We present results from the QCDSF/UKQCD/CSSM collaboration for the isovector charges and of the nucleon, and baryons using lattice QCD methods and the Feynman-Hellmann theorem. We use a flavour symmetry breaking method to systematically approach the physical quark mass using ensembles that span five lattice spacings and multiple volumes. We extend this existing flavour breaking expansion to also account for lattice spacing and finite volume effects in order to quantify all systematic uncertainties. Our final estimates of the nucleon isovector charges are and renormalised, where appropriate, at in the scheme.

How baryons appear in low-energy QCD: Domain-wall Skyrmion phase in strong magnetic fields

    Minoru Eto🇯🇵 · Kentaro Nishimura🇯🇵 · Muneto Nitta🇯🇵

Low-energy dynamics of QCD can be described by pion degrees of freedom in terms of the chiral perturbation theory(ChPT). A chiral soliton lattice(CSL), an array of solitons, is the ground state due to the chiral anomaly in the presence of a magnetic field larger than a certain critical value at finite density. Here, we show in a model-independent and fully analytic manner (at the leading order of ChPT) that the CSL phase transits to a {\it domain-wall Skyrmion phase} when the chemical potential is larger than the critical value with the pion's decay constant and mass , which can be regarded as the nuclear saturation density. There spontaneously appear stable two-dimensional Skyrmions or lumps on a soliton surface, which can be viewed as three-dimensional Skyrmions carrying even baryon numbers from the bulk despite no Skyrme term. They behave as superconducting rings with persistent currents due to a charged pion condensation, and areas of the rings' interiors are quantized. This phase is in scope of future heavy-ion collider experiments.

Data driven isospin analysis of timelike octet baryons electromagnetic form factors and charmonium decay into baryon-anti-baryon

    Jian-Ping Dai🇨🇳 · Xu Cao🇨🇳 · Horst Lenske🇩🇪

Inspired by the recent precise data, we perform model-independently an isospin decomposition of the timelike octet baryons electromagnetic form factors. As noted in our previous work, the relative magnitude of isoscalar and isovector component is determined with the input of data on various isospin channels. Herein we further assert that {their relative phase can be constraint by the phase difference of oscillatory modulation of effective form factors} between isospin channels. The framework is extended to analyze the data of differential cross sections and applied to the form factors of nucleon and hyperons with detail and isospin non-conservation of charmonium decay into baryon-anti-baryon as well. We address that isospin analysis is meaningful when the isospin broken scale is compared to or smaller than the uncertainties of data.

Is the LHCb plausible in the GlueX total cross sections ?

New high-statistics total cross section data for from the GLUonic EXcitation (GlueX) experiment are fitted in a search for the exotic state observed by the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) collaboration. The integrated luminosity of this GlueX experiment was about . The fits show that destructive interference involving an -wave resonance and associated non-resonance background produces a sharp dip structure about below the LHCb mass, in the same location as a similar structure is seen in the data. Limitations of the employed model and the need for improved statistics are discussed.

    Quasicrystals in QCD

    Zebin Qiu🇯🇵 · Muneto Nitta🇯🇵

We study the ground state of the low energy dense QCD with the assumption of chiral condensates of quarks. Under an external magnetic field, mesons could form soliton lattices via the chiral anomaly. For such scenarios, we present a unified description of pions and meson with a field in the framework of the chiral perturbation theory. Our result shows the ground state is a mixture of the magnetized domain walls formed by neutral pion and meson when they coexist. The winding number of the ground state would alter according to the strength of the magnetic field. When the magnetic field is strong or the chemical potential is large, the proportion of the mixture is determined by the decay constants and the contributions to the anomalous action of and meson. The resulting configuration is either a mixed soliton lattice or a quasicrystal which could be dubbed a ``chiral soliton quasicrystal''.

Thermodynamics of a rotating hadron resonance gas with van der Waals interaction

    Kshitish Kumar Pradhan🇮🇳 · Bhagyarathi Sahoo🇮🇳 · Dushmanta Sahu🇮🇳 · Raghunath Sahoo🇮🇳

Studying the thermodynamics of the systems produced in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions is crucial in understanding the QCD phase diagram. Recently, a new avenue has opened regarding the implications of large initial angular momentum and subsequent vorticity in the medium evolution in high-energy collisions. This adds a new type of chemical potential into the partonic and hadronic systems, called the rotational chemical potential. We study the thermodynamics of an interacting hadronic matter under rotation, formed in an ultra-relativistic collision. We introduce attractive and repulsive interactions through the van der Waals equation of state. Thermodynamic properties like the pressure (), energy density (), entropy density (), trace anomaly (), specific heat () and squared speed of sound () are studied as functions of temperature () for zero and finite rotation chemical potential. The conserved charge fluctuations, which can be quantified by their respective susceptibilities, are also studied. The rotational (spin) density corresponding to the rotational chemical potential is explored. In addition, we explore the possible liquid-gas phase transition in the hadron gas with van der Waals interaction in the -- phase space.
