Testing a best-fit hydrodynamical model using PCA

    Tiago Nunes da Silva🇧🇷 · David Dobrigkeit Chinellato🇧🇷 · Rafael Derradi de Souza🇧🇷 · Mauricio Hippert🇧🇷 · Matthew Luzum🇧🇷 · Jorge Noronha🇧🇷 · Jun Takahashi🇧🇷

Recently, a comprehensive Bayesian analysis was performed to simultaneously extract the values of a number of hydrodynamic parameters necessary for compatibility with a limited set of experimental data from the LHC. In this work, this best-fit model is tested against newly measured experimental flow results not included in the original work, namely the principal components of the two-particle correlation matrix in transverse momentum. The results from simulations show a good numerical agreement with data obtained by the CMS Collaboration.

Transits of the QCD Critical Point

    Yukinao Akamatsu🇯🇵 · Derek Teaney🇺🇸 · Fanglida Yan🇺🇸 · Yi Yin🇺🇸

We analyze the evolution of hydrodynamic fluctuations in a heavy ion collision as the system passes close to the QCD critical point. We introduce two small dimensionless parameters and to characterize the evolution. compares the microscopic relaxation time (away from the critical point) to the expansion rate , and compares the baryon to entropy ratio, , to its critical value, . We determine how the evolution of critical hydrodynamic fluctuations depends parametrically on and . Finally, we use this parametric reasoning to estimate the critical fluctuations and correlation length for a heavy ion collision, and to give guidance to the experimental search for the QCD critical point.

Partial dynamical symmetry and the phonon structure of cadmium isotopes

    A. Leviatan🇮🇱 · N. Gavrielov🇮🇱

The phonon structure and spectral properties of states in Cd are addressed by including proton excitations in the phonon basis and exploiting a partial dynamical symmetry that mixes only certain classes of states and maintains the vibrational character in the majority of normal states.

Thermodynamic Behaviour of Magnetized QGP within the Self-Consistent Quasiparticle Model

    Sebastian Koothottil🇮🇳 · Vishnu M. Bannur🇮🇳

The self-consistent quasiparticle model has been successful in studying QCD thermodynamics. In this model, the medium effects are taken into account by considering quarks and gluons as quasiparticles with temperature-dependent masses which are proportional to the plasma frequency. The present work involves the extension of this model in the presence of magnetic fields. We have included the effect of the magnetic field by considering relativistic Landau Levels. The quasiparticle masses are then found to be dependent on both temperature and magnetic field. The thermomagnetic mass thus defined allows obtaining the thermodynamics of magnetized quark matter within the self-consistent quasiparticle model. The model then has been applied to the case of 2-flavor Quark-Gluon Plasma and the equation of state obtained in the presence of magnetic fields.
