    Proton spectral functions in finite nuclei based on the extended Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approach

    We have calculated the proton spectral functions in finite nuclei based on the local density approximation where the properties of finite nuclei and nuclear matter are calculated by the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock method and the extended Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approach, respectively. The scaled spectral function from our calculation is in good agreement with experimental results at small momenta while the difference between them becomes apparent at high momenta. Besides, a target dependence of the scaled proton spectral function is also obtained in our calculation as was observed in experiment. A further investigation indicates that the proportion of the high density region of the proton has a significant contribution to this target-dependent behavior since the spectral function in asymmetric nuclear matter increases significantly as a function of density.

    QCD Sum Rule for Open Strange Meson in Nuclear Matter

    The properties of open strange meson in nuclear matter are estimated in the QCD sum rule approach. We obtain a relation between the in-medium mass and width of () in nuclear matter, and show that the upper limit of the mass shift is as large as -249 (-35) MeV. The spectral modification of the meson is possible to be probed by using kaon beams at J-PARC. Such measurement together with that of will shed light on how chiral symmetry is partially restored in nuclear matter.

    Renormalisation-group analysis of electromagnetic couplings in the pionless effective field theory

    The Wilsonian renormalisation group is applied to a system of two nonrelativistic particles interacting via short-range forces and coupled to an external EM field. By demanding that a fully off-shell one-particle-irreducible 5-point amplitude is independent of the cutoff, a renormalisation group equation is derived for the interaction current density. This is solved to obtain the fixed point corresponding to the unitary limit. The scaling behaviour of perturbations around this point is analysed. Some of these terms are related by gauge invariance to terms in the effective-range expansion; others describe short-range physics that is not included in the two-body potential. We construct observables including the bound-state form factor and show how the scaling of the terms in the interaction current is reflected in the power counting for their contributions to observables.

    Deuteron disintegration by reactor antineutrinos

    The existence of a new interaction involving the electron neutrino and the nucleons, which has received a convincing confirmation through a good agreement between the theoretical and experimental results concerning all observable processes with solar neutrinos, should also inevitably manifest itself in the deuteron disintegration by reactor antineutrinos neutral currents. In this paper, the analytical and numerical characteristics of such a disintegration are presented. The attention is drawn to the problem of finding the neutron registration efficiency, discussed in the preparation of the experiment at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory and in a number of special studies, to the role of quenching gas in proportional counters with helium-3 and to three performed reactor experiments with heavy water.
