    Die Erste Stunde (The first hour)

    I recall my "first hour" events following on my meeting in Fall 1968 in the classroom with my academic teacher and thesis mentor Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. multiple Walter Greiner. My comments focus on the creation of the new "strong fields" domain of physics in Frankfurt. I argue that this was the research field closest to Walter's heart during his lustrous academic career. I will describe the events that lead on to Greiner's course books, Walters actions leading to the rise of Frankfurt School of Theoretical Physics, and show how a stability principle defined his science.

    Predictions for cross sections of light proton-rich isotopes in Ca + Be reaction

    The cross sections for the 10 -- 19 with isotopes to in the 140 MeV Ca + Be projectile fragmentation reaction have been predicted. An empirical formula based on the correlation between the cross section and average binding energy of isotope has been adopted to predict the cross section. The binding energies in the AME16, WS4, and the theoretical prediction by the spherical relativistic continuum HartreeBogoliubov theory have been used. Meanwhile, the {\sc fracs} parametrization and the modified statistical abrasion-ablation model are also used to predict the cross sections for the proton-rich isotopes. The predicted cross sections for the 3 isotopes are close to mb, which hopefully can be studied in experiment. In addition, based on the predicted cross sections, the 14 is suggested to be a new magic number in the light proton-rich nuclei with 3/2, of which the phenomenon is much more evident than it is from the average binding energy per nucleon.

    Critical Exponents of Nonequilibrium Phase Transitions in AdS/CFT Correspondence

    We study critical phenomena of nonequilibrium phase transitions by using the AdS/CFT correspondence. Our system consists of charged particles interacting with a heat bath of neutral gauge particles. The system is in current-driven nonequilibrium steady state, and the nonequilibrium phase transition is associated with nonlinear electric conductivity. We define a susceptibility as a response of the system to the current variation. We further define a critical exponent from the power-law divergence of the susceptibility. We find that the critical exponent and the critical amplitude ratio of the susceptibility agree with those of the Landau theory of equilibrium phase transitions, if we identify the current as the external field in the Landau theory.
