    Observational signatures of neutron stars in low-mass X-ray binaries climbing a stability peak

    In the recent papers by Gusakov, Chugunov, and Kantor (2014) a new scenario describing evolution of rapidly rotating neutron stars in low-mass X-ray binaries was proposed. The scenario accounts for a resonant interaction of normal r modes with superfluid inertial modes at some specific internal stellar temperatures ("resonance temperatures"). This interaction results in an enhanced damping of r mode and appearance of the "stability peaks" in the temperature -- spin frequency plane, which split the r-mode instability window in the vicinity of the resonance temperatures. The scenario suggests that the hot and rapidly rotating NSs spend most of their life climbing up these peaks and, in particular, are observed there at the moment. We analyze in detail possible observational signatures of this suggestion. In particular, we show that these objects may exhibit `anti-glitches' -- sudden frequency jumps on a time scale of hours-months.

    Spectra and elliptic flow of charmed hadrons in HYDJET++ model

    Heavy-flavour quarks are predominantly produced in hard scatterings on a short time-scale and traverse the medium interacting with its constituents, thus they are one of the effective probes of the transport properties of the medium formed in relativistic heavy ion collisions. On the other hand, the thermal production of heavy-flavour quarks in quark-gluon plasma (QGP) is itself of interest. In this report, the production and elliptic flow of the prompt charmed mesons , , and in PbPb collisions at the center-of-mass energy 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair are described in the framework of two-component HYDJET++ model. The model combines thermal and pQCD production mechanisms. The spectra and elliptic flow of charmed mesons are presented, the results are compared with LHC data.

    Compositeness of Hadron Resonances and Quasi-Bound States

    We discuss the composite nature of hadrons appearing near the s-wave two-hadron threshold. Generalizing the Weinberg's weak-binding relation for stable bound states, we show that the compositeness of near-threshold resonances and quasi-bound states can be determined by observable quantities.

    Understanding the Nature of through Regge Physics

    It appears that there are two resonances with quantum numbers in the energy region near the hyperon. The nature of these states is a topic of current debate. To provide further insight we use Regge phenomenology to access how these two resonances fit the established hyperon spectrum. We find that only one of these resonances is compatible with a three-quark state.
